Number Sixteen

Sweet Sixteen has been fashioned from Black Walnut with a very special piece of Queensland Maple that is over 30 years old.  The wavy Queensland maple runs down the centre of the clock behind the dial, and continues through the back behind the pendulum.

The clock strikes a full count on the hour and a single strike on the half-hour.  The pendulum is of the temperature-compensating grid type, brass and steel,  with an attractive brass bob.  The dial is hand-hammered copped, a design element repeated in the centre of the pendulum bob.  Theb ezel holding the domed glass is brass as are the hands.

Queensland Maple is rarely seen in Canada, and such a deeply coloured and highly figured piece is very uncommon.
